Jeffrey Burt is a furniture designer/maker from Odessa, Ontario who is currently living and working in Toronto (Ontario). From an early age Jeffrey had a strong interest and predisposition towards problem solving and creating unique objects. Through his high school education he took advantage of the opportunity and explored many different avenues such as furniture making, guitar making and construction. This led directly into a job with a local timber framer (Gibson Timberframes). Though this position was fairly engaging, he was looking for something that was more refined and creative.
Through an education in the Craft and Design - Furniture Design program at Sheridan College he has explored the possibilities within the form of furniture. This experience instilled in him the importance of pieces that are consciously and responsibly designed and built. He aims to design furniture that questions tradition and explores new and logical forms to solve old problems.
