Vancouver Island Again
March 11, 2023 to April 09, 2023Back on the island, Claire and I shall do some hiking!
Determined not to let rain stop us, we still got some pretty great views.
And Nanaimo had a new taco place that really hit the spot!
Back to mount washington for some more snowboarding!
I got my new solar panels so I spent an evening installing them in a lovely home depot parking lot, these should definitely improve my output!
I gotta give the people the content that they want, like this sink! It's installed backwards :P
I spent a weekend exploring the logging roads around campbell river, there were so many beautiful free campsites :)
this next photo was where google was telling me to drive... I don't think they have the most recent information about this spot :P
I found this hike hiding down one of the roads. It was absolutely gorgeous with a water fall around every corner.

Then Claire and I went out to Carmanah so I could actually do the heaven tree hike.
New fan! My fan had started to make a horrible noise, but I also really wanted the remote control version because of the way Vern is set up. So I found someone to take my current fan and installed a new one.
Claire and I got some yummy pizzas
And then we went off to find another new hike!
This picture of me with my hat very naturally on my head is the start of this blog! I did it the goal was to not let figuring out the best technical solutions stop me from actually do it and I think I've succeeded! Maybe I'll improve things one day :D
The last adventure on Vancouver Island was to go to another island! It's weird being on the top deck of a ferry, I'm not use to being this short!
First stop, wow! This rock formation is amazing!
Then we drove to the other end of the island and had a few more lovely hikes in a beautiful lush forest and along the coast where the currents were being pretty wild. Along the way we picked up a hitch hiker who we drove to work. She told me to visit her friend in whitehorse who works at the sushi restaurant.
Thats it for Gabriola, back to the mainland!
